FSB Skills 30:30 at the Leigh Academy

The Leigh Academy hosted the latest FSB’s skills 30:30 event on Thursday 25th January. Just under 40 year 12 students took the opportunity to participate in this highly successful initiative.

Workshops

Whilst business participants took part in their own workshops on supported employment by Kent Supported Employment and updates by the Federation of Small Businesses www.fsb.org.uk/about-us , students began their event with presentations on how to dress to impress and how to make themselves indispensable in the workplace. Thank you yet again to presenters, Deborah Turner of You Image Consultancy www.youimageconsultancy.co.uk and Darrel Linehan of My Careers Options www.mycareersoptions.co.uk for imparting so much really useful information.

Speed Networking

After the individual workshops, nearly 30 business delegates and the students came together for a session of facilitated speed networking. Students avidly took the opportunity to talk to guests about their aspirations as well as asking each business about them and their career journey.
