A Day in the Life of..

Monday 22nd September 2014

5AM wide awake buzzing with ideas after a weekend off, involving lots of eating, drinking, sightseeing, shopping and great conversation. Great to just reconnect sometimes and grab some downtime with loved ones. A little timeout really helps get the creative juices flowing again.

So 5AM, still in lovely hotel in Edinburgh, but business thoughts buzzing away, it is Monday after all!! So in an effort not to wake Hubbi, I grab Daniel Priestley’s Key Person Of Influence book Daniel Priestley KPI  which I had started on the train on the way to Edinburgh on Saturday morning. Today was different though, today it just all clicked into place and I was scribbling ideas for my pitch and my micro niche. Love my job so so much.

By 6AM it looked a little lighter outside and I was getting fidgety so thought best get rid of some of the excessive energy so opted for a 5 mile run in Holyrood Park. What a fabulous location for an early morning run. Fresh air, beautiful scenery, challenging hills and music pumping, invigorating is an understatement.

Back at the hotel with a lovely cup of Rooibos tea before a hot shower and then a full English breakfast, what a great start to a beautiful day. Truly blessed.

After packing the cases ready to head home later in the afternoon we grabbed a cappuccino before heading back to Holyrood Park. This time to climb up to Arthurs Seat and grab an amazing view of the city from 250m on the hill. True scramble up to the top and then breathtaking views of the city below.

Steep track down the hill and back to the hotel for quick spruce up before heading to the luxurious Balmoral Hotel and their own Palm Court for

an awesome Champagne Afternoon Tea.

Slow jaunt to Edinburgh Waverly Station for the fast rain back to Kings Cross. Great time to catch up on emails, social media, and blog writing!

All in all,an amazing day, great balance of work, ideas, exercise, outdoor/indoors time, food, drink, fun and relaxation. Home to excitable greeting from Flora, ready to face a full working week.
