Blog Interview, YOU the Brand – Anwen Cooper
How would describe your personal brand?
Well in the past two years my clients have said that I am pragmatic, strategic, logical, intelligent, considered, knowledgeable, supportive, intuitive, creative, enthusiastic and warm – and I’m happy with all that! These words are all quoted from my LinkedIn recommendations, so I’m not just making it up! I often say that your brand is based on three Ps – your unique Philosophy, how you choose to Position yourself, and more importantly through the Perception of others – ultimately what others say and think is what matters.
What values are important to you?
Clarity, Connection, Joy,Expertise and Growth are the five core values that guide me in my business. Balance is key to guiding me overall in life and work.
How do you reflect these in your Personal Image?
I like to keep things fairly simple – a basic capsule wardrobe and nothing too fussy. I also like to mix things up and draw on a variety of different styles, balancing classic looks and current trends. I add a bit of fun and upliftment with lots of warm Autumnal colours and interesting texture. I always choose good quality natural materials, and prefer to buy British if I can.
Describe your company brand image.
Get Fruitful Marketing is all about taking a straightforward back-to-basics approach to marketing, and that businesses get their message across in an authentic and memorable way. The look and feel of the visual identity is inspired in part by health foods, fruit and veg market stalls and Lush cosmetics – fruit features a lot!
How do you ensure your staff share your values and represent these values in the way they look, sound, feel and behave?
I don’t currently employ any staff on payroll but have people who support me in my business in different ways. I am drawn to partner with people who share my personal values and vice versa – I seem to attract them to me. I enjoy working with ambitious optimistic entrepreneurial people who have a clear vision for growth.
What do you do to relax?
Yoga, walking and reading.
How well does your wardrobe reflect your lifestyle?
My wardrobe is a fairly small capsule collection which keeps things easy (not too much choice in the mornings!) I have a basic uniform which is jeans for downtime and dresses for work and smarter occasions. I am doing the school run most days, and split my time between working and being home with my daughter so need outfits which are very practical for dashing about in.
What is your favourite thing in your wardrobe and why?
Probably my faux fur jacket – it is soft and warm, very distinctive (it always get comments), luxurious and a bit fun.
What is the least worn item in your wardrobe and why?
A gold sequin top – my lifestyle isn’t glamorous enough to warrant getting it out more than once a year at Christmas!
Describe your look in 3 words?
I always struggle with this one as I think my style is actually quite eclectic. Maybe something like Relaxed British with a dash of Boho fun (I know that’s more than 3!) – I’d be more interested to hear what others say though.
What is your style secret?
Keep it simple and add a twist. Colour and texture have a big part to play.
When you are getting ready for an evening out which song you put on, your Style soundtrack?
Diamonds by Rihanna
What is your proudest moment?
Most recently, the launch my book – Get Fruitful The Playbook.
